Financing Your Year in Israel
For many students, one of the challenges to capitalizing on the gap year in Israel is scholarship availability. Below is a partial list of scholarship options and their websites, which are available in order to help defray the cost. In addition to these, many of the yeshivas themselves offer financial incentives and reductions in tuition.
Scholarships
Requirements: In general, it is an excellent idea to call your local Jewish federation as they often have scholarships for local students to study in Israel.

Requirements: If you are applying to a MASA- affiliated program, and you are a first-year Israel study student, you are entitled to a MASA grant.
Amount: Varies
Requirements: There is an application on the website. Scholarship awarded to specific Yeshivas.
Amount: $400 in airfare
Loans and Grants
Requirements: If a student is enrolled in the Yeshiva University S. Daniel Abraham Joint Israel Program or Touro College, any college-aid money the student is eligible to receive while enrolled in an accredited university is made available to that student during their year of study in Israel. These include FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This includes State Loans and Grants including Pell Grants and Stafford and Perkins Loans.
Amount: Varies
Applying and enrolling in the S. Daniel Abraham Joint Israel Program through Yeshiva University or Touro College qualifies the student for federal aid. Those students who attend Yeshiva University or Touro College, can receive a year of college credit by completing the year of study in Israel.
